Mambeg House is a traditional stone built villa set magnificently on the west hillside of the Gareloch, quiet and secluded and yet affording superb panoramic views out to the Firth of Clyde.

Mambeg Country House offers bed and breakfast near Garelochhead on the west side of the Gare Loch - not far from Loch Lomond. Mambeg is a quiet and secluded Bed and Breakfast with lovely views overlooking the Firth of Clyde. It is set amongst 3 acres of natural gardens and woodland shrubbery, home for many wild animals and birds. It is surrounded by natural forest on 3 sides with a pebble beach on the shorefront. We have ample parking area away from the public road.

A warm welcome awaits you at Mambeg - on arrival, tea in the Lounge with its stunning views down the Loch. There is also a small library, games and DVD collection for your use (all rooms have DVD players).


It is set amongst three acres of natural garden and woodland shrubbery, home for many wild animals and birds as well as our own small natural animal sanctuary comprising of ducks, goats, cats, dogs, rabbits and a very friendly Shetland pony called Muirfoot Munro. It is surrounded by natural forest on three sides, with a pebble beach area on the shorefront.

The house has been decorated in a style complimenting its historical heritage and therefore providing a comfortable, restful and quiet location for either a holiday base or en route accommodation

Location :

Helensburgh, which is 15 minutes away, has all types of restaurants and take-away outlets. Locally we have a Fish and Chip shop, an Italian bistro and Chinese take-away. There are a number of other eating and drinking places close by.

Close at hand we have fishing, walking, sailing, western horse riding, botanic gardens, a gift shop and a florist. Slightly further afield there are golf, swimming, historical places of interest and in the summer months many evening and weekend activities

Play golf nearby at Helensburgh Golf Club, Loch Lomond Golf Course, Cowal Golf Club, Gourock Golf Club, Whinhill Golf Club and Cardross Golf Club.
